Skippyglobetrotter's mission is to be the leading Visual Translator Bookseller on the High Street and online, providing customers with a unique handbook that will enable them to communicate in any part of the world.

Skippyglobetrotter was founded in 2008 by Lionel Mercier. Lionel has travelled around the world either for business or pleasure. Whilst travelling, Lionel realised how difficult it was to communicate with locals when you do not speak the language. So he started drawing on a piece of paper some of the things he was after. Unfortunately, Lionel is not a great designer and he isn't patient, so one day he realised that he needed to come up with an idea to overcome those language and drawing barriers. The visual translation book was born!

The visual translation book is made of eight of the most common themes of a day to day life. Each theme regroups various visuals that will enable you to communicate abroad without speaking the language by showing at a specific image (e.g. you can point at an apple when you are in a supermarket looking to buy one).
